Crunchy

Sometimes eating is about delicious flavours, but sometimes it is all about texture.

This sandwich was a pretty fantastic textural meal -- thin slices of seitan, fried up until nice and crunchy, so they even made a crunching noise when you bit into them; soft white (unhealthy but so smooth and yum) bread rolls; smooth & creamy avocado; crisp and fresh salad.  Luckily the flavours were good, too, but this sandwich was a textural joy.

Used to love seitan when I ate gluten!

Hi Pete - I thought that was probably seitan, but thanks for clearing it up anyways!

I make my own seitan, because there is definitely nowhere in Townsville that sells it. But there may be in Brisbane - I would recommend asking some Brissie bloggers for their advice. You could try Emma (Vegan Food for the Hungry Student), or Susan (Kittens gone Lentil). Both links are in the list of Aussie bloggers :)
