Pasta and noodles!

I’m no vegan pasta extraordinaire, but I do appreciate a good bowl of noodles. The possibilities are limitless when you think of all the various sauces and add-ins you can combine into a delicious meal. And pasta can be as complicated or as simple as you want it to be.

Here’s a bowl of spiral pasta with chickpeas and broccoli. I quickly whipped together a garlic-lemon cream sauce to pour over the whole thing.

This is a bowl of gnocchi with sautéed green beans, capsicum, and tomato. There was also a bit of fresh basil mixed through, and a squeeze of lemon juice added just before serving. (Lemons and limes are on special at the moment, so they’re showing up a lot.)

Soba noodles, made from buckwheat, taste great with nutty sauces. Here I’ve tossed them with a tahini-lime sauce and paired them with stir-fried broccoli, capsicum, carrot and wombok.

What’s your favourite way to have noodles?

Haha yes, Romina IS the vegan pasta extraordinaire, for sure (glad you linked to her blog!); and your pasta dishes look great as well! My favorite way to eat noodles is topped with LOADS of fresh vegetables, and homemade tomato sauce or pesto. Yum!

Mmm!! Good thing I'm eating pasta right now, because you've given me a craving for it!! You're right, the possibilities are endless. Gotta love food with no rules. =)

I could go for that gnocchi right about now!

I love pasta - a little too much indeed ;-).
My favorite pasta at home is with my boyfriend's tomato sauce: onions, zucchini, button mushrooms, tomatoes an chilies!
And in my favorite Italian restaurant, a recipe of spaghetti with arugula and tomatoes.
But overall gnocchi are definitely my favorite.

Your creations look fantastic to me! I need to start looking for a flight to Australia ;-)

Wow, these dishes look delicious! Where do you get the Soba noodles from and what is wombok?

Any chance I could get the recipe for the first dish, the spiral pasta with chick peas and broccoli?

Groooover, I get the soba noodles from Cole's, in the 'ethnic foods' section. They are organic. And wombok is chinese cabbage, which I got from the green grocer in my neighbourhood.

I can never get enough pasta (literally, my hubby doesn't like it so we don't eat it too much)!! I would love some creamy vegan mac and cheese right about now.
