Vegan Chicken

I often don't bother looking too closely at the freezer section in the grocery store, because the vegan pickings are slim and I try to avoid (expensive) packaged food products. But the other week I was at Woolworth's in Hermit Park and they carry several products I've heard mention of from Aussie city bloggers. Fry's veggie burgers, Syndian veggie burgers, a Fry's cottage pie, and chicken schnitzels. I wanted to buy them all but showed some restraint and decided on the schnitzels.

They are really easy to make, and totally awesome. Much less oily than Sanitarium Not Burgers. Went well with my baked sweet potato + sunflower butter.

Hermit Park Woolie's also carries tofutti cream cheese, so even though it's a bit further away, I may have to bike up there for groceries every few weeks!

I really like these schnitzels.
While in Sydney to watch Popeye graduate, he had bought me some Syndian brown rice burgers and I did not like them at all! Maybe it was because they were microwaved (that's all his accommodation had), but they were quite expensive (about $7) and I expected much better.

I love those schnitzels, as well as the Fry's burgers and nuggets. Fry's are pretty awesome all round.

Hi, i'm new to your blog. Gotta say your life sounds so interesting and exciting! I've never tried sunflower butter, but I'll have to give it a shot. Have a happy holiday!

I heart Fry's burgers and even liked the shepherds pie for lazy snacking, and hear the nuggets are great. I found the schnitzels a bit greasy though but maybe I will parma it up so that it's kinda meant to be greasy!

I didn't care for the Syndian burgers I tried either (Aussie fusion or something), they were basically flavourless mashed vegetable in patty shape and were really hard to cook without them falling apart.

I love the schnitzels! Not as good as making chickpea ones from Vcon, but so quick and handy. The burgers and sausages are good too!

I'm also not a fan of Syndian. They are really expensive for only 2 patties, and they are mushy and not really all that nice tasting.
